E4Impact is a foundation that collaborates on multilateral projects to promote economic development and value chains in Africa. It leverages its pan-African presence and extensive network of partners. In line with its mission, history, and specific expertise, the foundation focuses its project role on impact entrepreneurship, primarily in the following sectors:

• Waste Management: Developing projects to improve waste management processes, often in collaboration with local municipalities.
• Healthcare: Supporting businesses in the healthcare sector to help them enhance their social impact.
• Women’s Empowerment: Initiating initiatives to support women’s entrepreneurial activities.
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT): Accelerating ICT companies and using ICT as a driver for entrepreneurial growth.
• Migration: Promoting entrepreneurial initiatives among migrants in Europe and projects that help reintegrate migrants into their home countries by creating job opportunities.
• Agribusiness: Supporting projects related to sustainable agricultural economics as a launchpad for development and food security.

E4Impact has a deep understanding of African entrepreneurial ecosystems, gained through its seven offices in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Tunisia, Uganda, and Zimbabwe, as well as its MBA programs in 18 African countries. This allows the foundation to design interventions in line with the UN’s 2030 Agenda that are highly relevant to the local context. Some impressive numbers collected over the years include a total of 31 projects implemented and 1,321 entrepreneurs trained through MBA programs, with 33% being women.

What Carvico Does with E4Impact: The Carvico Ethiopia Plc Project

At Carvico, we have actively decided to collaborate with E4Impact, not only by supporting their ongoing projects but also by contributing one of our projects. In 2017, we established Carvico Ethiopia Plc, a promising project that aims to provide new prospects and make a concrete difference in the Amhara region of Ethiopia.

We have supported the local workforce through welfare programs, leading to the creation of:

• An in-house infirmary equipped with diagnostic and specialized equipment imported from Italy.
• A company cafeteria offering a balanced diet.
• Sports and social activities, including a soccer team that has already won a local tournament.

We have closely followed the study and implementation of the project with great attention because our investment is intended to contribute responsibly and sustainably to the region’s growth.
