What is Made Green in Italy
“Made Green in Italy” is the national voluntary scheme for assessing and communicating the environmental footprint of products. It was established under Article 21, paragraph 1 of Law No. 221/2015, managed by the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, and is based on the PEF – Product Environmental Footprint – methodology.
The fabrics evaluated belong to the Vita and Revolutional® families.
Their responsible and certified production, driven by an approach inspired by the circular economy, has enabled Carvico to meet Made Green in Italy standards. This achievement confirms our commitment and responsibility to fostering an increasingly fair and circular economy.
Made Green in Italy Certification with PEF (Product Environmental Footprint) Methodology
In line with our commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impacts, Carvico has obtained the ISO 14067:2018 Carbon Footprint (CFP) certification. This certification, based on the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) methodology, measures the environmental impacts of our products throughout their entire life cycle, assigning merit classes.
The study was developed according to the referenced RCPs and verified by Bureau Veritas (an independent third-party verification body).
Through CFP certification, Carvico demonstrates its dedication not only to the quality of its materials but also to environmental responsibility.
The CFP certification for warp-knit fabrics in the Vita and Revolutional® families confirms our compliance with high eco-sustainability standards.
Adherence to these standards, as well as to the PEF Guidelines, has enabled Carvico SpA to achieve the Made Green in Italy certification.
For each type of processing, the impacts were calculated for all 16 categories defined by the PEF methodology, with a focus on those considered most significant within the RCPs: climate change, resource use – fossil, and water use.
Following the comparison of results with the reference benchmarks identified in the RCPs, it emerged that all the analyzed fabrics fall into CLASS A.
The DIAP (Product Environmental Impact Declaration) summarizes the key concepts contained in the PEF study and has also been verified by an independent third-party verification body.
Date of adherence to the scheme: August 8, 2024.
